Philanthropy & Community Service

FYP’s philanthropy initiatives provide our members an opportunity to connect with the our community in a meaningful way. We view giving back to those who are less fortunate as more than just an aspiration; it is a guiding principle that propels us into the future. With diverse backgrounds and experiences, our members apply their skills, collective resources, and creativity to philanthropic passions and make lasting impacts locally and throughout the world.

Whether we are assisting in the local Houston community or in the Philippines, the strength of FYP’s humanitarian efforts is deeply rooted in the organization’s core principles and is sustained by our dedication to the Filipino culture. Our members have participated in many philanthropy initiatives including, but not limited to:

• The Texas Children’s Hospital
• Houston Food Bank
• Fundraising for Gawad Kalinga’s Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts
• Bargains for a Benefit Charity Garage Sale (fundraiser for Typhoon Haiyan Victims in the Philippines by way of the American Red Cross and local needs by way of the Salvation Army)
• Houston International Festival
• Medical Mission to the Philippines
• SALAMAT: Celebrating the Filipino Culture, Heritage and Spirit

As an organization comprised of individuals with diverse interests and perspectives, FYP’s members have the ability to make both a positive and unique difference to the under-served. We are deeply honored to be afforded these opportunities.
